X-Europe Cohort 3: Investor Overview

It is X-Europe’s second year of operations and we are continuing to provide unparalleled service offering and facilitate growth in various deeptech sectors and verticals.

Currently, over 130 startups from five deeptech verticals have received our market-driven growth programme, and according to the current statistics, X-Europe alumni have raised over 22 million Euros since joining the programme. Although we are now calling startups to apply to our last cohort: FinTech, our investment matchmaking is not stopping just yet! But, we have time to get there. For now, let’s do an overview of the investors enrolled in our cohort 3 - Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML).

In this vertical, we were able to collaborate with more than 100 investors located in 14 different countries, an eclectic mix of people that helped our startups achieve their goals and maximize impact. When it comes to the investors' location, the Netherlands ranks this round with 15 investors, closely followed by the United States, with 12 investors, and the United Kingdom, with 11. Also, we have reached some investors from Visegrad, one of the focus regions of our programme, having a total number of 8.

Our AI & ML startups are leveraging their technology solutions to tackle various sectors, and in order to provide them with the much-needed support, we have sourced leading investors that focus on relevant industries. The predominant investment focus of our investors is artificial intelligence, financial services, software-as-a-service, hardware, marketplaces. We hope to see these investors create strong ties with our community and use their knowledge and experience to help deliver impact.

In this cohort, most of our investors are focused on the seed stage (50). Also, we have 18 investors focused on later-stage ventures. We see this variety to be beneficial as it conveniently covers the different maturity stages of our startups and scaleups.

When analysing our investors' pool we noticed that the firms with the most investments made came from Latvia (an impressive number of 78), proving that Latvia is indeed the most startup-friendly country in the world1 (Sifted, 2021)! Lithuania was the second, with 43 investments made. The Baltics were on fire when it comes to the investment

Stay tuned for upcoming results!
