First Open Call results are out! Get to know the 27 startups & scaleups embarking on the X-Europe journey.
Applications for the first cohort of the X-Europe programme – HealthTech, MedTech and BioTech - closed on 30 April 2020 with a whopping number of 177 submissions (and an impressive total of 256 expressions of interest). Evaluation and selection were not easy – so many great solutions were presented!
During this first open call, X-Europe received applications from over 30 countries, with the majority of the applicants stating their strong interest in services such as matchmaking with investors, pitching opportunities, matchmaking with corporations, growth hacking training and one-on-one mentoring. With X-Europe targeting and supporting startups in different maturity levels, 44% of applications came from Pre-MVP and MVP startups, 36% from growing startups with live funding and product-market fit, and 20% from companies scaling in products and markets.
From the 177 applications, 27 deeptech startups were selected to join the program, and we are very happy to introduce our first cohort – HealthTech, MedTech and BioTech.

What are the first steps of the journey?
The 27 selected companies have started their path in the X-Europe programme, and they are in for a treat. They were welcomed at an introductory webinar, where they got to know more about the timeline of the programme, the project team, the services they are benefiting from and the other founders in the group.
The startups and scaleups are now starting to have access to the investment matchmaking support cycle and scheduling the one-on-one mentoring sessions, where they will receive tailored mentoring to their needs. They will also have support in advertising job openings and accessing talent on X-Europe platforms, as well as promotion opportunities.
A lot more is coming in the next months, such as access to the top-notch training by Growth Tribe Academy and showcasing opportunities at the TNW 2020 conference – but more on that in the coming months.
