Triumf Health | X-Europe Startup Interview

Welcome to our X-Europe startup interview series. We have virtually sat down with a number of our founders from past cohorts to hear all about their solutions, vision for the future, and what made them tick during our X Europe programme. So whether you are a deep tech founder looking for startup support, an eagle-eyed investor, or simply interested in the possibilities that technology can bring to society, then we welcome you to take a read. Please meet Triumf Health, an evidence-based digital therapeutics platform for children to deliver personalized psychological support through a game environment.

Can you briefly explain what your solution is all about? What’s unique about it?

Triumf Health has developed an evidence-based digital therapeutics platform for children to deliver personalized psychological support through a game environment. We started in 2017 from chronic illnesses and the mental burden related to disease management but have significantly expanded the platform in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the mobile platform is also supporting children without health issues who are experiencing environmental stress (currently due to the coronavirus crisis).

How can your solution impact the Health sector?

Currently, every other kid is experiencing mental health issues and these are mainly arising from stress. Stress could come from health issues but also from the environment, whether it is because of the current pandemic or something that happens at home or school. It is essential to relieving the mental burden that children are experiencing because otherwise they develop mental health issues that will affect them throughout their life course. These preventative goals can be achieved if support is delivered to children the way that they like it. And don’t they enjoy playing games?

Since the foundation of your company, what have been its biggest milestones? What challenges are you still trying to overcome?

Our solution is effective on children’s quality of life and wellbeing based on our research findings. This gives us scientific credibility that startups rarely achieve. Furthermore, the platform is evaluated externally and is among top3 solutions for children’s health globally. In 2020, Nasdaq congratulated us on our achievements on the biggest screen on Times Square. These have all been wonderful milestones for us but the most meaningful one was when we received our first feedback from a parent who had a child with cancer who told us how the game had positively affected her child. We know that we are on a right track but there are still regulatory obstacles we need to overcome.

What was the status of your product before joining X-Europe? How has your original product vision evolved?

The product is evolving all the time to keep it fun and engaging for children, so it also happened during the programme. But our story evolved the most during the programme and our marketing efforts are now much more meaningful.

After joining and benefiting from the services X-Europe has provided to you, what next steps do you envision?

Our approach to digital marketing evolved the most during the programme from establishing an improved strategy to measuring our marketing efforts. We continue setting more and more ambitious marketing goals that support us on our path of becoming the global leaders in digital therapeutics for children.

What tips do you have for entrepreneurs trying to succeed in the HealthTech/BioTech field?

Being persistent is a winning superpower in the very traditional healthcare ecosystem. Do not give up!

What’s unique about the X-Europe programme?

It allows you to establish a growth mindset that is key to success.
